Every Package Date on this site was entered as an example, to show how the portal works. No venue has been asked for these dates, and none has acknowledged them. A Booking made here holds nothing.
About the LA Waterfront STEM Network
Five waterfront organizations in San Pedro, each setting aside dates for schools and colleges. This site publishes those dates as Packages a Requester can hold today.
A network of five organizations
The LA Waterfront STEM Network is not a company and not a legal entity. It is a network of five organizations that programme together: AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Battleship IOWA Museum, Los Angeles Maritime Institute and Los Angeles Harbor College.
Each one runs its own intake, its own forms and its own invoicing. Nothing on this site changes that, and nothing here signs on their behalf.
The network has no separate legal existence. Four independent record searches — the California Secretary of State, LA County fictitious business names, the Attorney General’s Registry of Charities and the LA City Clerk — each returned nothing.
Programming together since 2017
The network was launched in 2017 by AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, and was revitalized in 2026 around a shared vision among waterfront organizations at the Port.
A combined AltaSea and Los Angeles Maritime Institute field trip has been run before, by hand. This site automates the scheduling half of something the network has already done.
The network’s own narrative overview, supplied 2026-08-20. An earlier draft dated the founding to June 2026; that was a relaunch, not a start.
K-14, by the network’s own count
The network describes its population as K-14, not K-12: it counts community college students in the population it serves, alongside K-12. Four community colleges are named programming partners: Los Angeles Harbor College, El Camino College, West Los Angeles College and Santa Monica College.
The Packages in this catalog are day trips that fit inside a school day. The community college pathway programming runs alongside them and is not bookable here.
Both the network’s sponsorship deck and its narrative overview say K-14, not K-12.
What this site does, and what it does not
Each organization sets aside specific dates. This site publishes them as Packages, shows the departure and return times, what each Leg costs and who invoices for it, and gives a Requester a Booking Reference and a printable itinerary the same minute.
Holding a Package Date is not a venue agreeing to it. Each venue is notified and contacts the Requester directly. Until they do, a held date is something to put on a purchase order — not a day any venue has accepted.
This site takes no payment and holds no student records. Fees are invoiced by the venue, directly to the school.
Holding no payment path and no student records is a deliberate design decision, and it is what keeps this a small, checkable system.
